What is Kinesiology?

Kinesiology is a gentle, body-led way of listening to where stress is being held and what the body needs in order to return to balance. It works with the body’s own responses to support physical, emotional, mental, and energetic wellbeing. Each session is guided by the body, making the process personal and responsive rather than prescriptive.

More about Kinesiology

Is Kinesiology safe?

Kinesiology is a gentle, non-invasive, body-led process. Sessions are guided by consent, readiness, and respect for the body’s timing.

What is MRT?

MRT is the acronym for Muscle Reflex Testing which is a gentle technique that uses light pressure on the arm to observe muscle responses. It helps identify where the body is holding stress and guides the session by allowing the nervous system to indicate what support is needed.

More about MRT

Is muscle reflex testing (MRT) gentle?

Yes.  Muscle feedback involves light, gradual pressure and is always guided by comfort and consent. The process is subtle and respectful, allowing the body to indicate what it is ready to work with.

What can Kinesiology support?

People come to Kinesiology for many different reasons, including stress, emotional overwhelm, physical discomfort, life transitions, and a desire to feel more regulated or connected.

Rather than focusing on labels, the work responds to what your body is ready to address.

More about benefits

Do you assess food or environmental sensitivities?

Food and substance responses can be explored through muscle feedback (MRT) to understand how the body is responding at that time. This process supports body awareness and informed choice, guided by the body’s own signals.

About Sessions

What happens during a session?

Sessions are calm, unhurried, and guided by listening. You remain fully clothed and supported throughout. I work with gentle muscle reflex testing (MRT), awareness, and other subtle supports as indicated by the body. Music may be used to support emotional flow and nervous system settling.

There is no pressure to talk or relive difficult experiences. The body communicates in its own way, and the session follows that language.

Will I be touched during a session?

Touch is always gentle, respectful, and entirely consensual.

When appropriate, I may use light contact such as gentle muscle feedback (MRT), soft acupressure, or working with joints in the body to support the flow of energy through the meridian system. This touch is minimal, intentional, and guided by what your body indicates is supportive.

Consent is central to how I work. I will always check in with you, and you are welcome to communicate your comfort level at any point. Sessions can be held with little or no touch if needed, and trust is allowed to build at its own pace.

Your body leads the process, and nothing is ever forced. The work unfolds in a way that feels safe, respectful, and aligned for you.

Do I need to know what I want to work on?

No. You don’t need to arrive with a clear issue or story. We begin by tuning into what is present for you in the moment, and the body guides the session from there. Sometimes the focus is clear; other times it gently unfolds during the session. Both are welcome.

Will I have to talk about difficult things?

Only if you want to. Some people like to talk and reflect, others prefer a quieter experience. There is no expectation to share more than feels comfortable for you. The work does not rely on retelling or analysing experiences - the body leads the process.

How do I know if this work is right for me?

If you’re drawn to a gentle, respectful approach that listens to the body rather than pushing it, Kinesiology may be a good fit.  You’re welcome to reach out if you have questions or would like to talk through whether this feels right for you.

You don’t need to have everything figured out before you begin. This work meets you where you are, and unfolds from there.

How many sessions will I need?

This varies from person to person. Some people notice shifts after a single session, while others choose to work together over time for ongoing support. We can check in after your session and see what feels right for you.

About Sessions with Children

Children often know more than they can express. Kinesiology offers them a safe, respectful way to be heard without pressure, expectation, or judgement.

Do you work with children?

Yes.  I work with children and families in a gentle, age-appropriate way. Parents are present and sessions are always guided by the child’s comfort and readiness. Younger children and babies can be supported by working with a parent as a surrogate for muscle reflex testing.

Can Kinesiology be offered for babies and young children?

Yes. Kinesiology can be offered for babies and young children in ways that are gentle, respectful, and guided by what feels safest for the child and their nervous system.

Sessions may involve working directly with the child, working alongside a parent or caregiver, or using surrogate muscle testing through a parent or closely connected adult. The approach is always adapted to the age, sensitivity, and needs of the child on the day.

For babies and very young children, this may look like working with the parent while the child rests nearby, is held, or plays. For toddlers and young children, sessions may include time on the floor, play-based interaction, observation, or brief moments on the table - always following the child’s cues and comfort.

In some cases, sessions may be held primarily with the parent or caregiver, particularly when this best supports a calm, regulated process for the child. Parents may be invited to bring a comfort item, such as a favourite blanket or toy, if helpful.

Surrogate and parent-supported sessions can also be offered online, allowing families to remain relaxed in their own home environment.

Is Kinesiology safe for children?

Yes. Kinesiology is a gentle, non-invasive, body-led process. Sessions are always guided by the child’s readiness, comfort, and the body’s own signals.

What happens during a child session?

Sessions are calm and child-led. I follow the body’s responses and use gentle supports such as colour, sound, crystals, or flower and chakra essences if indicated. Children find the process relaxing and enjoyable.

There is no pressure to perform or “get it right.” We move at a pace that feels safe and appropriate for your child.

Can I stay in the room with my child?

Yes.  Parents remain in the room for the session. Your presence can be very grounding and reassuring for your child.

What if my child is nervous or doesn’t want to participate?

That’s okay. A child’s willingness is always respected. Sometimes simply being in the space is enough for the first session. There is no forcing or pushing - we listen to what the child is ready for.

Will my child be touched during the session?

Touch is always gentle, respectful, and entirely consensual.

When appropriate, I may use light contact such as gentle MRT, soft acupressure, or working with joints in the body to support the flow of energy through the meridian and nervous systems. This touch is minimal and intentional, and only used if it feels supportive for the child.

A child’s consent is essential. I always check in and follow the child’s comfort level. If a child is not ready for touch, the session can be held without it. Sometimes it simply takes time to build trust, and that process is respected.

There is no expectation for a child to engage in any part of the session before they feel safe. The work unfolds at their pace, guided by what their body is ready for in that moment.

Does my child have to talk about their feelings?

No.  Children are never expected to explain or talk about anything they’re not comfortable sharing.

Kinesiology works with the body’s responses, so your child can simply relax and engage at their own pace. Some children enjoy talking, others are quieter - both are perfectly welcome.

How many sessions will my child need?

Every child is different. Some families notice shifts after one session, while others choose ongoing support. We can check in together after the session and see what feels right for your child and your family.

What should I tell my child before the session?

You can keep it very simple and reassuring.  You might say something like:

“We’re going to see someone who helps bodies feel calmer and more settled. You don’t have to do anything special - just come as you are.”

There’s no need to explain details or reasons unless your child asks. Children often feel more at ease when they’re allowed to stay curious rather than prepared for a “task.”

Will my child receive anything to take home?

Yes.  Children receive a small crystal to take home, along with any flower essences or essential oils that are indicated. These supports can help continue the settling and integration after the session.

How can I support my child after the session?

Keeping things simple is best. After the session, allow space for rest, play, or quiet time. Some children like to talk about their experience, while others integrate internally. Both are normal.

You may notice subtle shifts in mood, sleep, or behaviour as the body continues to settle.
